Temporary permission to stay in order to perform a special activity
A temporary stay permit for the purpose of performing a special activity is granted by a foreign affairs police department, on condition that there are no legitimate grounds to refuse the applications from applicants who are not entrepreneurs, notably:- teachers,
- art workers,
- sportsmen,
- persons doing training courses and studying outside Slovak Republic,
- persons involved in the realization of the Slovak Republic or European Union programmes,
- persons performing activities as for discharge of obligations of Slovak Republic in consequence of international agreements,
- medical workers or persons accompanying a citizen of a third country for medical treatment in case of need,
- volunteers or
- journalists accredited on the territory of Slovak Republic.
1) 1) 2x photos sized 3x 3.5 cm,
2) Valid international passport,
3) Administration fee payment receipt to the sum of 99.5 Euro; applicants under 18 do not pay this
fee
4) purpose of visit:
- confirmation from an educational institution or another educational facility of teaching activity,
- confirmation from a state body or art-agency,
- confirmation from a sports organization or a competent state body,
- confirmation of doing a training course,
- confirmation from a state body which is responsible for the activity performed according to the programmes approved by the Slovak government or European Union, or confirmation from an organization that promotes such programmes according to the contract with a state body,
- confirmation of an activity performed according to an international contract implementation,
- confirmation form a medical institution of a treatment provided or a document justifying the needed companionship when regarding applicants who are applying for a temporary stay permit on the ground of § 25, paragraph 1 - g) from Law № 404/2011
- confirmation from an NGO of the activity performed as a volunteer,
- confirmation from a relevant state body of the journalist status accredited in Slovak Republic, or a document certifying the journalist accreditation on the territory of Slovak Republic.
5) absence of previous convictions:
- extract from the criminal record or the applicant’s citizenship-country, translated into the Slovak language and notarized or certified by a translation agency (or a legal translator),
- extract from the criminal record of the country where the applicant has stayed within the last three years for the period exceeding 90 days during 6 months in succession
6) financial provision:
- extract from a bank account opened in the name of the applicant, or a document from an official body of a legal person certifying financial and material sponsorship of the applicant for the whole period of his stay to the minimal amount of the living-wage per each month of the applicant’s stay (annually it is 2,277.96 Euro),
- for under age citizens of a third country the availability of a half of the above mentioned amount (i.e. 1138.98 Euro per year) must be confirmed,
- confirmation from a state body which is responsible for the activity performed according to the programmes approved by the Slovak government or European Union, or confirmation from an organization that promotes such programmes according to the contract with a state body; if it mentions financial provision of the applicant.
7) Accommodation:
- a certificate of property or an extract from a certificate of property, issued by a property cadastre in the name of the person of a third country, or
- a notarized contract of tenancy with the owner or a user of the tenement and an extract from the certificate of property or any other document certifying the accommodation right, or
- a confirmation from a hotel, hostel or boarding house to provide accommodation, or
- a notarized consent from a natural or legal person to provide accommodation to the foreign citizen on the territory of Slovak Republic and an extract from the certificate of property or any other document certifying the accommodation right, or
- an invitation, provided it guarantees accommodation
- according to the existing legislation the applicant must within 30 days from the issue date of the temporary stay permit submit to a foreign affairs police department a medical insurance certificate valid on the territory of SR.
- the applicant who has received a temporary stay permit must within 30 days from its issue date submit to a foreign affairs police department a medical attestation certifying that he has no dangerous diseases. This medical attestation is valid within 30 days from the date of its issue.
(All the documents enclosed to the application must be issued within the last 90 days) (The submission of the criminal record extract is not mandatory if the applicant is under the age of 14, or the applicant is applying for the change of the purpose of his stay and is staying legally on the territory of Slovak Republic at the time of his application submission).
