Long-term permission to stay
A long term permission to stay is granted for an uncertain term. A foreign affairs police department grants a permanent stay permit if there are no grounds to refuse the application of the citizen of a third country:
- who at the time of application submission has been uninterruptedly resident on the territory of Slovak Republic for five years in succession on legal grounds,
- whose permanent stay permit, issued on the basis of § 55 - e) or § 56 – а), b), c) or d), has lost its validity, or
- who on legal grounds has been resident on the territory of EU-countries as a holder of the European “Blue Card”, or who has been resident on the territory of Slovak Republic as a holder of the “Blue Card” for a period of at least 2 years direct prior to the application submission date.
DOCUMENTS TO BE ENCLOSED TO THE APPLICATION:
1) 2x photos sized 3x 3.5 cm,
2) Valid international passport,
3) Administration fee payment receipt to the sum of 165,5 Euro
4)Financial provision:
- confirmation of a stable and regular income which can cover the living expenses of both the applicant and the members of his family, and can secure that the applicant will not become a financial burden for the social welfare of the Slovak Republic,
- stable and regular income of the citizen of a third country can be proved by, first of all, a work contract, a letter from the employer indicating the wage amount, an extract from a bank account opened in the name of the citizen of a third country, or a document certifying a pension received,
- citizens of third countries, who by the time of the application submission for permanent stay permit have been granted a temporary permission to stay for family reunion reason, can, as a proof of the stable and regular income source, submit a “genuine” consent from the spouse, a parent or a person who they are dependent on (guardian) to provide financial and material support to the citizen of the third country for the whole period of his stay on the territory of Slovak Republic, including the confirmation as in paragraph 4.
5) Medical insurance:
medical insurance for the whole period of stay on the territory of Slovak Republic
6) Accommodation:
Ak ide o žiadosť o udelenie dlhodobého pobytu podľa § 52 ods. 1 písm. b) azylant - doklad nie starší ako 90 dní potvrdzujúci ubytovanie a to:
If it concerns applications for a long-term stay permit according to § 52, paragraph 1- b) refugee – the supporting document must be issued within the last 90 days and confirm his provision with accommodation, notably:
a certificate of property or an extract from a certificate of property, issued by a property cadastre in the name of the person of a third country, or
notarized contract of tenancy with the owner or a user of the tenement and an extract from the certificate of property or any other document certifying the accommodation right, or
confirmation from a hotel, hostel or boarding house to provide accommodation, or
a notarized consent from a natural or legal person to provide accommodation to the foreign citizen on the territory of Slovak Republic and an extract from the certificate of property or any other document certifying the accommodation right.
(All the documents enclosed to the application must be issued within the last 90 days).
The submission of the criminal record extract is not mandatory if the applicant is under the age of 14, or the applicant is applying for the change of the purpose of his stay and is staying legally on the territory of Slovak Republic at the time of his application submission).
